Cloud Mountain – Don’t Go Changing!
Look closely at this photo, that is Will's pull start....not good
I rounded a corner sledding up to our zone the other day to find Marius standing there staring at his new sled. “If it’s possible to total a sled while riding up a flat trail, then I just did it”, he said….Not good. His suspension snapped rendering his sled utterly useless. It essentially took the entire Rome team to get it down. We had to rig two snowboards together and set the sled on top of the boards, then strap them all together so it would stay and finally tie it to another sled to tow it down. This sucked, add to it the brutal whoops and dirt sections and you have a really shitty day, but we managed, we took care of it and got it to the bottom.

Will did get some shots though, here's a warm up fs 3
The next day I rounded another corner (there’s a lot of corners up here and I’m usually bringing up the rear) and came upon Will Lavigne. His sled had smoke billowing from under the hood. “Cavan I have a big problem” he said. “Yeah I guess you do” I replied while we were trying to cool the sled off with snow, he realized that his brake was completely gone, not good for where we are. “Well can you start it” I said, “Maybe we can head down from here” Will went to pull the starter and wham, it came off in his hand, really not good. On a scale of 1 -10 in the sled problems range he was at….totally screwed. We ended up having to tie his sled to another sled and down hill tow that one all the way out as well. Add those two to Yan’s old sled (it’s really Trent’s sled but Yan used it everyday) Big Bertha which is stuck up in the zone and will probably have to be airlifted out, and you can see we’ve been having great sled luck.

Mike Paddock is here with us
Not to worry though things have been fun, it’s been snowing non stop so everyone has been shralping lines and building jumps for when the sun finally comes. We’ve been shooting follow cams through the woods with the whole team, so it’s been really fun and productive. Everyone is in high spirits, MFR got a sick shot today Will Lavigne got a couple things but he also took a brutal crash and absolutely demolished his board – totaled sled and Broken Board both in the same day, priceless. At the rate he’s going, no one wants him to ride down with them for fear that their car will break down too.

Here's MFR taking some pow runs, she's been charging the backcountry this year....but you didn't hear that from me
Supposed to be good weather tomorrow hopefully Cloud Mtn. will be good to us

There's some serious lens power up on cloud mtn for Kids on shred these days

Yep that's a sled and it's upside down. the whole crew looks on to help

Here's a Will Lavigne pow turn

Look closely this is Marius slashing pow, he's ready for the blue sky
